The Top 12 Girls Compete!

It is annoying how they over-hype the talent each year as being the best. Based on the first performance and the commentary this is going to be a crappy year for me. Paige sounded alternating between okay and bad. Never did I get a sense that she was an awesome singer or performer. The judges gave it positive reviews all the way around though. Simon went as far as to say that she has the best voice out of the girls. I don't have much hope for the rest of the night now. :shrug

0 for 3 so far. The second girl was just bad. The third girl was only slightly less bad.

Lilly was decent. I thought Katelyn was very good. Then Haeley came out and took a dump on the stage.

I am still waiting to be blown away though.

The next girl lost out to Megan last season for a shot at the top 24. Need I say more?

That's disappointing, they kept hyping the girls as better than the guys! If the girls are that bad, I wonder how the guys would sound :eek

Michelle sang very well. I want to hear more from her for sure.

Didi took a song I loved, changed it, mad it into a song I didn't really like. She just didn't connect with me or with the tune at times either.

Keep in mind that these are just my opinions Acfan. People disagree with me a lot when it comes to AI.

Siobhan has an awesome voice! Now we're talking! I think she should be around for quite awhile.

Crystal was okay too, but I'm no fan of the harmonica. Hopefully it only makes brief appearances. I agree with Simon though that she can be seen performing on a street corner near you. She is a good singer though. It looks like she got some much needed teeth bleaching prior to the show too.

Katie I have mixed feelings about. I think she could be really good. The three most talented were the last three probably. Katie chose poorly though. Hope she does better next week.

I thought by and large the girls group stank up the stage. I was not impressed with any of them.

The girls definitely did not bring it....the boys didn't either though.

Casey, Crystal and Lee are the only ones that were ok IMO. The rest were not good at all. I do better at karaoke.

Underwhelming, I agree, not a lot of good singing. Most of the singers had better Hollywood week performances so I'm continuing and hoping that the nerves are gone next week!

I still love Andrew Garcia though, the judges were hard on him, but I enjoyed his song very very much!

Lee is a new favorite. Like his look, and he's got a singing style I enjoy.

I forgot most of the girls already.

ETA: By the way, Todrick and Lacey were big letdowns for me this week. Expected both to be good. :(

Siobhan Magnus was the best, followed by the guy who sang Chasing Cars. I still love Didi even though I really didn't like her performances. I have a feeling America voted all the wrong people through though. All the ones with real potential will be gone before top 12.

I don't get the Lee Dewyze hype. He sang one of the most monotonous songs ever and he was frequently out of tune. It was an insult to David Cook that they compared him.

Totally agree. I think this is easily the worst group of contestants ever.

Over the two nights I didn't love anybody. The only person who I thought was pretty good was Andrew Garcia.

Not sure I am going to waste my time watching this year even though it is Simon's last and he doesn't look like he is having fun at all. I like Ellen, but she is not adding anything to the show at all. Plus, there are too many good shows that I really enjoy on Tuesday nights...NCIS's, Lost and The Good Wife.
