:music Where do you buy your music from?

Do you search through Walmart, Target or HMV for deals? Would you rather download your favorite tracks off the internet? Or order online and wait for your cd to come in the mail? Do you buy certain cd's because of free offers like bonus songs or free posters?

Personally, I like buying cd's in store, at any store that has the best price. Sometimes bribes such as free bonus songs attract me to some stores, but I like seaching for the best deal. Altought I do purchase some music on itunes, I have a huge music collection that I enjoy regularly.

Yes, some still do, Callie. ;)

I usually buy my music from Amazon.ca or from Future Shop/Best Buy.

Yes, maybe the thread title should be changed from "Where Do You BUY Your Music?" to "Where Do You GET Your Music?" :lol

I used to download my music from Limewire, I have bought music from Itunes, and I sometimes buy music from a store called HMV (I don't know if they have it in the U.S.).

Maybe I'm old fashioned, but I still love the experience of going to a music store and browsing through the CD's, stopping a moment at the listening stations to check out an artist you normally wouldn't, the close proximity to hipsters and checking out what they are buying, diving into the used bin and finding a gem.

Denver is lucky to have some phenomenal music stores. Wax Trax has been a fortress of edgy/alternative music for decades and Twist & Shout has an enormous used section along with their already huge selection of new. And they both have sister stores dedicated to vinyl.

I just can not imagine my life without the thrill of going to one of these stores the day a long-awaited CD has come out, paying too much for it and (after fighting with the wrapper) playing in on the car stereo on my way home.

We use iTunes but most of the songs we have in it are just ripped from our extensive (900+) CD collection. :shrug

See... I don't like the music stores BECAUSE of those music stations. Putting head phones that have been on 1000+ people. No thanks.

I search through HMV. Right now it's my favorite store. It's got games, music and movies..(and board games).

I know this is going to throw the thread off topic, but oh well. You'd laugh at all the crazy stuff I do while out in public.

I avoid those Self Check Out's at the grocery store like NO other. If I HAVE to use one, I use my knuckle to tap the screen. Think of how many DIRTY hands have touched that screen. Ewwww!

Oh, I know! We went to chinese buffet last night (my mother in law's choice) and I could barely eat. Something about mass produced food + lots of people serving themselves = GROSS!

*End thread jack*

Sorry to keep off topic, but all of you, how many people have touched the mail you get out of your mail box?? Do you use gloves when getting your mail?? There are some things you just can't avoid! :lol

Back on topic, I don't buy music anymore. I still have a working 8-track and plenty of my old 8-track tapes and tons of cassettes with a working cassette player. And there's always my radio station that plays only "golden oldies". :D
