Children love books. FunSpotters used to be children. Therefore FunSpotters had have books that they loved as children. It's only logical; we all had them. What was your favorite childhood book or story?
Whether it be a book, novel, poem, story, fairytale, or any sort of literary work, discuss your favorite book as a child. Comment on others. Travel back to the age where all was easy, and remeniss. Have FUN!

Fun with Dick and Jane. :) I really loved those books and that's how us older people learned to read! Another oldie was "The New Puppy", I adored that book! Remember though, I'm going back to the 50's as "childhood".
Now, if I go into my Junior or as it is now called Middle school years, it would be, Lord of the Flies, Animal Farm, Old Man and the Sea, James and the Giant Peach and the best ever...To Kill a Mockingbird!
Most boring ever...Grapes of Wrath...one whole chapter about a turtle crossing the road, very exciting....:rolleyes

I LOVED THE BERNSTEIN BEARS. I had every single book while I read them. At that time, gas stations would give them for free with purchase of gas (haha hilarious, they used to give books to children - now what has the world come to?). I would make my mom go to those gas stations just to increase my collection.
I also LOVED Robert Munch books. They are still funny today. I had nearly all of them.
Finally, since Harry Potter began in my childhood (:p) when I was in Grade 2, I read the second Harry Potter all by myself, and it was the first real book I read without my mom.
When I was young, my mom would read me three books a night, and says I wouldn't let her leave until she finished the quota. Then at the prime age of three, I began watching LA Law and later Law & Order and ER. Thus, the era of books ended... (:lol just kidding, but maybe it would be correct to say the era of TV began! :up)

I loved the Richard Scary "Busytown" books with Lowly Worm. I also loved the book "A Color of his Own" by Leo Lionni about a chameleon.

Oh, I love this series! I've managed to "collect" all except the last 3-4 books in this series via ebay. Unfortunately the last few books are rare and when they are on ebay, it can get expensive. :(

:( I do run into older copies at thrift stores and stuff, but my kids never show an interest. I'll keep my eye out for the last few books, and maybe I'll be able to send you one if I find one! :)
