Our last purchase was the Royskopp Live CD. I think it is live from Stockholm.

Pretty good - although the later tracks were a little less ambient electronica and more Erasure - which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I can't remember the last time I've bought a cd. I mean, almost all the music I want is either available in an mp3 that I can place onto my iPOD or available to me through YouTube.

So either way - I never have to go and end up purchasing cd's. We used to though. Look at how much technology has evolved.

Soon we'll have theeeese new amazing computer stuff too. :crazy

I've never bought a CD. I still listen to my old "records" 33's, and 45"s (yes the needle on my stereo is still in good shape), and I listen to my 8-track tapes, (yes, I have working 8-track player) and of course my cassettes. No CD needed for me. LOL!!

Of course, Ms. Katharine McPhee :love !!! What's sad is that it's the ONLY thing I listen to when I'm driving, and it's been like three weeks already haha. It might be that all of my cds are in my car, which has been in the shop. So once I get it back on Thursday (after a month of driving a rental), I will be able to switch between three Idols: Kat, Carrie, and the Dreamgirls soundtrack :lol !

:lol Manny! I know, when I got rid of my car my CD listening time went way down...but now I take the bus more so my iPod time is way back up (and most of my iTunes library are ripped CDs so it's sort of like listening to CDs, right?)

We recently bought the latest Flaming Lips album. I'm sure I don't have to tell you...but it's good! :up

I will be picking up Arcade Fire's newest CD "Neon Bible" this week. This Montreal band is poised to become a huge success.

*Bows down*

Arcade fire rocks my socks. Their first album was SO good. We tried Virgin on Monday hoping that they had it out early but no dice. Hopefully it isn't sold out yet (I think it came out on Tuesday).

Arcade Fire + The Decemberists = :love

ETA: We bought Arcade Fire at lunch (and the new Shins album too! :)). Loves it - listened to it twice already! Especially track #4 - sounds like Arcade Fire turned up a notch.

The "Neon Bible" CD arrived today; I love the "Keep The Car Running" track. :yay

:) It is a pretty good album - like they just kicked it up a notch from their freshman outing but still very recognizable as the Arcade we know and love.

Did you get the one with the normal cover or the one with the pretty holograms?????

Jay
03-14-2007, 07:20 PM
The CD arrived in a colored, cardboard sleeve. I don't see any holograms.

OnMyLunchBreak
03-15-2007, 12:07 PM
At Virgin when we bought the CD you could buy the plain, colored one for $13 or the nifty hologram one for $15. We chose the plain one too.

I was watching MTV this morning and they did a feature on Neon Bible and Arcade Fire - sounds like you are right, they are really poised to hit superstardom.

Which, of course, means their third album is going to suck!!!!

I just bought two CDs by Apocalyptica: "Worlds Collide" and "Inquisition Symphony".

This is a truly unique band composed of brillant musicians!!! I am in awe of their talent. :bow

Apocalyptica is a Finnish cello metal band, composed of classically trained cellists and, since 2005, a drummer. Three of the cellists are graduates of the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland. Their music features elements from classical music, neo-classical metal, thrash metal, and symphonic metal.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apocalyptica

This group started by doing instrumental covers (using only four Cellos) of Metallica songs. They also did covers of other groups, before starting to release their own original materials. They eventually added a drummer. After a while, they started to have guest artists to sing lyrics to some of their songs. Both their covers, their instrumental work and their songs with lyrics are ground-breaking, jaw-dropping music that are definately worth listening to. :up
