It feels like it has been awhile since we've had to go through this.
Before we begin,, I just want to say that you guys are all awesome to have in this game, and all of you are worthy of moving on. Sadly, that can't happen, and one of you must now exit the game.

It will not be Dennis, who dodged a MAJOR bullet by winning immunity this round, as his tally score is significantly higher than anybody else's.
Simon we will also see next round, earning himself Safety, which means you may still cast votes against him, but he will not be eliminated no matter what his score.

Who were the big earners this round?

Peter: 5
Dennis: 5
Simon: 5
Zits: 3
Daniel: 2
Jazzed: 1
KFH: -1

And what do the Tally scores look like at this point?
Remember, a number of you were assessed a penalty of +1 vote against yourselves for the tiebreaker drama that happened last round:

Dennis: 22
Jazzed: 6
Simon: 5
Peter: 1
Zits: 1
Daniel: 1
KFH: 0

So it looks like Jazzed is the most in jeopardy of leaving us at this point. But everyone who is not safe/immune are all still quite close in score to one another... I wouldn't feel safe in anybody's position here..

Please have your voting decisions in to me no later than Monday at Midnight EST. Don't forget, if you wish not to spend any of your voting tokens, you must let me know.

If you need a reminder of how many tokens you currently hold, please PM me to ask.

Good luck to all players.

Well there you go. Congratulations to Cochran the (unwitting) patron of Dunce Island. I love it when the name I came with with for these articles before the season still makes sense at the end. Considering it was apparently a foregone conclusion that Cochran was winning this thing (at least as far as the jury was concerned), I thought the editors did a reasonable job of keeping us guessing how it was going to play out. Now, I didn't write a recap for last episode when Brenda got the boot because...well, I just didn't feel like it. I was hurt. Wounded! How could they just go ahead and ...vote someone out? Devastating! But anyway, Brenda got blindsided. And her feelings hurt. After that it seemed pretty likely it was going to be Cochran/Dawn/Sherri. Unless Erik and Eddie had some tricks up their sleeves. Nope! Erik goes out with dizzy spells before even making it back to camp after TC. I think maybe he thought he had some hope with Brenda in the game and his body just gave up on him once she was gone. Its funny, everyone was standing around acting sad that Erik was being medivacced when they were actually secretly happy. But the most secretly happy one of all was Erik himself who could now have a delicious saline drip to wash down a cheeseburger at Ponderosa where he wouldn't have to worry about trying to explain what the hell his whole game was about.

After Erik was gone, all that was left was to boot Eddie, who was expected to get at least a few votes from the bros on the jury. It was also expected that perhaps Eddie might finally show some challenge prowess but, yeah, no. He tried to convince Cochran to take him to the end but, you know, he's an idiot. And an idiot isn't going to pull the wool over Cochran's eyes. So Eddie's utter ineffectualness is complete. Does fourth place give you enough money to open a dogbar? Maybe he can start with just fenced yard, a lemonade stand and a bottle of cheap vodka?

Final tribal council went exceedingly well. For Cochran. It was a disaster for Dawn. It was even worse for Sherri. Dawn's opening statement was excellent, as was Cochran's. Poor Sherri's seemed like poorly rehearsed jibber jabber. She was all like "Little do you know - I have a secret life as a millionaire business owner! I could buy and sell you all! I treated you like my most menial employees! And you had no idea! Anyway...umm...What was I going to say? Um...Nevermind. Vote for me!" Then it was all over for her. Mostly no one wanted to talk to her. Erik and Eddie wanted to heap derision on her. She never got another chance to talk herself up. Plus she was unceremoniously ejected from Stealth R Us and forced to hand in her name tag. Meanwhile Dawn was getting killed. No one liked her crying or her paranoia. Reynold didn't like that she wasn't talking about him enough. Brenda didn't like that she had the gall to walk around with her teeth in a right she should have forfeited when she voted her out. A compromise was struck where Dawn would take her teeth out in exchange for, not necessarily a vote, but for Brenda to stop browbeating her. Andrea and Michael, at least were semi-nice to her. But everyone was falling all over themselves to be nice to Cochran. Philip told him it was a pleasure to play the game with him. Eddie seemed to be inviting to him to go to the bar with him and, presumably, other cool kids. You could definitely feel the love for Cochran. He put in a terrific performance, he was pitch perfect with every answer, but he didn't need to be. He could have grunted and sneered derisively and people would have still voted for him. This jury knew they were voting for Cochran when they came in. They were just looking for some sport. Rattle some cages. Make a couple of moms feel bad. Still a pretty lively affair as far as final TCs go. The teeth thing was a bit much and Reynold's just a dick, but there were a few good questions. And one very clear winner. I didn't expect Cochran to win every vote, but obviously he was well liked by the jury.

Less successful, perhaps, than the final TC and the season itself, was the reunion show. The first thing that sucked was the fact that the pre-jury players were not onstage and instead were in the audience. This meant Probst wasn't going to ask them a question which was annoying. They made the effort to come out to the studio and they won't even give us another look at them. I was looking forward to seeing if I could tell the difference between Allie, Hope and Laura. Also the whole point of the reunion show is to see if people look better or worse than they did on the show. I didn't get even a glimpse of the Survivors in the audience so I couldn't tell you. I can say this: Cochran looked really good. He's got a stylist now, so he's very presentable. His stylist is his mom, but, she has a good eye, and I'm sure her fees are extremely reasonable. I guess he figured he couple spring for some new glasses since he knew he was coming into some money. Sherri looked great. Not much chat with her though. Dawn looked...pretty similar, really. Lets see, who else...Malcolm looked...well, he looked like a god. He's a good looking guy. Philip looked like, maybe, a jazz clarinetist. Michael Snow looked kind of like Lex Luthor in evil industrialist mode. Thats about it. Probst didn't really talk to anyone else. Oh, there was Brenda who was skyping in from Florida. She looked great. Her boobs looked fantastic! It was soon revealed that that was because she is totally pregnant, like, due any time. Which is why she couldn't come out to LA, not because she always wants to stay at least 8 states away from Dawn. The satellite diplomacy that Probst was trying to work between Dawn and Brenda was awkward to say the least. I really don't think Dawn did anything wrong, really, not in the context of the game. Its not like she took Brenda's truck like Dreamz did to YauMan or anything like that. But Probst insisted an apology be made. I sort of half thought Brenda was going to refuse to accept it until Dawn took her teeth out again. The awkward Brenda/ Dawn thing was my next pet peeve about the reunion. Then there was the Malcolm interlude where some random kid from the audience was interviewed and had almost nothing to say about Malcolm. Then there was an appearance on a soap opera by Malcolm featuring terrible acting. I'm a Malcolm fan, but all that was enough to make you want Malcolm to go away for a good long time. Awful. But not the worst! We still had, for some completely inexplicable reason, 85 year old Rudy from the original Survivor come out and talk about Richard being queer. I don't really expect Rudy to change with the times or anything, but its been 13 years and having a gay guy on tv isnt that freaky and bizarre anymore. So Rudy's fixation with Richard Hatch's sexuality, as if that was the only thing he remembers from the show, was off putting to say the least. To top that segment off, there was a stupid cameo from Hatch himself. That took up enough time to probably check in on Shamar and Erik's health and see what Francesca took away from the game. So we didn't get any of that. But the Rudy episode still wasnt the worst!! The worst is ALWAYS when Probst goes into the audience to talk to Boston Rob, who is ALWAYS there. This time he's flogging a supposed book 'The BR Rules' which is actually Philip's idea, though I can't see Rob cutting him in on the deal. That was just depressing. The fan favorite player went to Malcolm, which I don't really have a problem with. He's a good character; he adds a lot to the show. I didn't think his playing two idols move was that great, it was kinda showboating, I felt. I don't understand Brenda coming so close though. I like her, she's nice and all, but she wasn't even in the show for the first 9 episodes or so. Your favorite player is a relative stranger? Cochran wasn't in the mix? Its okay . Lisa stole it from Malcolm last time so its good he won it this time. Overall, kind of a bad reunion, I thought. Not Bryant Gumble-hosting bad, but creeping towards that. Thankfully we had a pretty good season before these unfortunate proceedings. And a great, Dunce Island approved winner!

Are you on Pinterest?
I am about to take a deep breath and share with you my one and only Pinterest board. I realized, too late, that I might not use Pinterest the "correct" way, but what I have done is curated a list of 215 of the people, places, and things that have influenced me and my life, and shaped me into the reality game-loving weirdo you all know and love (you guys do love me, right?).

Here it is: http://pinterest.com/712x/this-is-my-pinterest/

Just like in the other challenge in this round, this one too is about numbers. Shortly, I will be giving the seven of you a list of 10 categories that are prevelant on my pinterest board. Each of you will need to count up all of the pins that qualify for each of the categories. Once you have totalled up each category, add all 10 of the totals you came up with to arrive at one final total. PM me the final total you arrived at, and whoever ends up closest wins! All answers will be ranked in accordance with how close they are to the correct final total.

The ten categories are as follows:
a) The number of rappers that I have pinned.
b) The number of food items that I have pinned.
c) The number of pins that contain one or more animated character (from a TV series or animated feature) that I have pinned.
d) The number of pins that contain the logo of my favorite NHL hockey team.
e) The number of pins that contain an alcoholic beverage OR the logo of an alcohol brand.
f) The number of deceased celebrities that I have pinned*
g) The number of pins in which at least one guitar is visible.
h) The number pins that contain at least one famous Canadian person.

Last two are a bit different:
i) The number of the card
j) Only one person has been pinned more than once. What is that person's number**?

*This pertains to deceased celebrities ON THEIR OWN (as in not a part of a band). Do not count my pin for the Beatles. Do not count my pin for T.Rex, etc.
**Again, this does not pertain to members of a band who were also pinned solo. I am not looking for Paul McCartney, I am not looking for Exene Cervenka, etc.
***Note that any pin could count for more than one of the above categories.

Now, I'm not going to lie, some of my pins might be a bit on the obscure side of things, some are rather ambiguous, some might walk the line between one thing and another... That is why I will answer any of the questions you might have. For instance, if you were to ask "did you count Janelle Monae as a rapper?" I would answer NO. Although, if you asked me "did you count Tom Green as a rapper", I would have to say YES. The catch, though, is that all questions must be asked publically, in this very thread. In turn, I will be providing answers publically, so I guess don't ask me anything you don't want everybody to know the answer to.
I will not be answering questions of a "how many" nature, though. How many deceased celebrities did I pin? You can't ask me that!
You are free to ask me questions pertaining to me as a person, if you think that would help, or word them cryptically so that others might not catch on. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTION, if I deem it not appropriate for this game, for example.

This challenge is optional! You don't even have to do this one if you don't want to! Why wouldn't you want to? Because performing badly at this challenge could LOSE YOU VOTING TOKENS. Rewards for this challenge are as follows:

1st closest: +4 tokens AND Safety from this round's elimination.
2nd: +3 tokens
3rd: +2 tokens
4th: +1 token
5th -1 token
6th: -2 tokens
7th: -3 tokens

So, if you choose not to do this one, you can't possibly lose anything. But you also can't win safety or any tokens. Also, the less player that submit an answer, the easier it will be for those who do to get something good.. so think about that.
If you end up "winning" a negative number of tokens in this challenge, but don't have enough to pay them to me at the moment, you will owe me. I will take those back from you if/when you earn more down the road.

Lastly, I am looking for the closest number to my answer, period (as opposed to closest without going over, as is the standard in our other challenge in this round). Any ties will be broken by whoever got their answer in to me first, so get it done quick as you can.

Deadline is THURSDAY at MIDNIGHT EST.

Good luck!

Poor Sherri from her horrible opening speech to the Jury being ducks to her. And really Erik? Of all people you? What did you do? Wish Sherri could have expressed herself better and said what she did before the merge. (not that I think she would have won or deserved to win)

And good for Cochran I guess pre-show relationships do help in this game. That is why I dont buy the whole socially akward nerd winning narrative Jeff is trying to push.

:eek @ Brenda making her remove her teeth. That was cold but I did enjoy it :lol

:rolleyes At the Pre-jury not getting to sit on the stage. And if they get no air time and 2 past survivors do? UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!! :mad

Oh and Eddie's plans for the million dollars :lol

I for one cannot stand RC and it will be hard to watch. I don't like that they're having returning players again, but at least: NO HANTZ. I love Kat/RobC and I'm excited to see Terry and Kat again. I like Tyson, but did he really deserve a third shot?

A couple of big players gone this week which made for an entertaining show. First up was Reynold which was pretty expected. Personallly, I've been hoping for it for weeks now. I just don't like the guy. Too smarmy. And vain. "I feel pretty capable of going on a 5 Immunity winning streak." Whatever, dude. I'm pretty disturbed by the talk of him coming back for another season. How does he deserve that? What's one good move he made it the game? Besides throwing stuff to win Immunities? If thats an Allstar or a Favorite, why don't we get an automatic tennis ball launcher on the show. Tape a calculator to it and it will be able to tell you that an alliance of 4 is not the majority out of a tribe of 10 and it'll be superior to Reynold. Tape a mustache on it and Reynold won't even come close. Andrea on the other hand ran around trying to make moves constantly. Too many moves, really. She got a little greedy trying to supplant Dawn or Brenda with Eddie, who, seriously, no one really wants to see at the end, aside from Reynold, I guess. Anyway, it made for a pretty tasty blindside. Andrea seems to like the blindsides so it was appropriate . And she actually seemed to be impressed by the move her erstwhile colleagues pulled off. So, good for her.

We're in the homestretch now, final 6. I'm actually headed out of town for the weekend and should return for next weeks final couple of episodes to wrap up the season. But you never know with travel delays and such. I'm actually heading to an island myself and I've gotten stranded there before with ferry service being cancelled due to bad weather. Who really knows when I'll get back. So, I've taken the liberty of writing up a short press release for each of the final six since I can't be sure at this point who will win. If I fail to return in time, please save this article and read the appropriate winner's news item at the conclusion of the season.

Eddie

Doughnut-Loving Dumb Ass Inexplicably Wins Survivor 26

Survivior fans dumbfounded as firefighter and high school glory days nostalgist Eddie becomes Sole Survivor.

The 26th season of Survivor ended tonight with a surprise finish when 23 year old New Jersey cool kid and self proclaimed handsomest man on the island somehow managed to pull enough votes to win the game despite doing absolutely nothing to deserve them. Votes from bros Reynold and Malcolm were not unexpected and it is well known that Andrea is easily swayed by good looks and mild flirtation. The motivation behind the remainder of votes he received are mysterious but it is thought that a combination of exhaustion and dehydration in the jury led to their bizarre lack of judgement. Eddie is currently looking to lease a space for his planned dog hospital / bar and grill and interviewing geneticists and plastic surgeons who he hopes will be able preserve his youthful looks for all eternity.

Sherri

Crazy Finish for Survivor 26

Extraordinary series of circumstances lead to Idaho mom winning season

In one of the strangest finishes for the venerable reality tv show ever, Idaho fast food franchisee and mom Sherri won the final vote to become the champion of Survivor: Caramoan. Sherri is notable for doing, really, nothing at all to deserve a win which has Survivor viewers and commentators everywhere scratching their heads. Vote fixing, payola, and powerful and shadowy fast food lobbyists figure into the rumours surrounding the final tribal council. Alien mind control is another theory gaining traction amongst certain bloggers and social media pundits. Most observers agree that whatever happened, Survivor 26 will mark the point where this well respected franchise jumped the shark and may well spell the beginning of the end of society's experiment with reality television.

Dawn

Emotional Wreck Wins Survivor; Weeps Openly

Tears, presumably of joy, preclude coherent interview with season 26 winner Dawn

42 year old English professor and mother of six Dawn Meehan was voted the latest winner of Survivor despite being unable, for the latter half of the season, to string two sentences together without a tear soaked emotional break down. She was credited with playing a good game and was a solid member of her alliance, never wavering in the face of many offers and entreaties to flip or switch. Minority players often saw her as a weak link, possibly because of her near-constant sobbing, not knowing that the emotions so prominently on display were merely the the preferred method of expression of the Survivor dubbed, by noted insane person Philip, True Grit. Crybaby or not, Dawn was in a position of power for the entire game and rarely put a foot wrong. Her worst crisis came when she lost her teeth in a lagoon which threatened her place in the game like her opponents only wish they could have. After Brenda recovered then, it was smooth sailing to the final tribal council where the jury either sympathized her sob story or just voted against the other duds she was up against. It was not possible to speak with the still blubbering Dawn at press time but it is assumed she will use her winnings to send her kids to college and perhaps for therapy for herself to remove Reynold's disturbing presence from her mind.

Erik

"The Silent One" Silences Critics

Critics not actually silenced, complain all the louder at the incomprehensible turn of events that see former ice cream scooper win Survivor 26

Erik Reichenbach, known as the dumbest Survivor ever, surprised the reality tv world tonight by winning in his second season of the game. The most surprising thing of all was that he didn't appear to be playing much smarter than he did in his first season. A ridiculous strategy which saw Erik keeping his strategic thoughts entirely to himself and asking to be informed of the desired target minutes before tribal council seems to have led to success for the 27 year old doodler/amateur calligrapher. At one point he even asked for the target's name to be pointed to on the tribe flag rather than spoken aloud, such was his commitment to not talk strategy. Erik's success represents something of a rebuke for popular beliefs about Survivor; most pundits have felt that strategy is necessary to win the game, but now the opposite has been proven to be true. Erik will use his winnings to launch a comic book inspired by his experiences about a morally conflicted superhero who resolves conflicts by waiting until the very last minute when one side or other is going to win, then giving them a final push to help out. Look for Issue #1 of "The Silent One" this fall.

Brenda

Mysterious, Well Liked Survivor Wins Season

No one could think of any reason to vote against Brenda

In a season of Survivor where nobody was really that great at anything, the winner was rewarded for being sort of nice, or something. Brenda Lowe, the 30 year old entrepreneur from Miami was the favorite of the jury. Many viewers were surprised by her win, considering she barely spoke for the first two thirds of the game, but evidently when she did speak, she had friendly words for her fellow players, and she was rewarded for their warm feelings toward her. A good challenge performer, especially in water based tasks, Brenda held her own in most aspects of the game. Her major weakness seemed to be her inability to command camera time, a fact which apparently did not bother the jurors, who were probably happy that she was willing to cede that time to their more dramatic storylines. Asked to comment on the win, one juror who asked to remain anonymous stated: "Brenda? Yeah. She's nice I guess."

Cochran

Cringing Harvard Nerd Now Survivor Champ

Uni-monikered Poindexter demolishes competition

John Cochran, better known as just 'Cochran', the 25 year old Harvard law student who lives and breathes Survivor, became the winner of his favorite reality tv competition on his second attempt tonight. Despite a premier season characterized by terrible challenge performances and desperate, ham-fisted strategic play, Cochran seemed to find his footing early in his second season, winning challenges, befriending allies and making all the right moves. The bookish sweater vest-wearing red head gained confidence by leaps and bounds in this, the 26th season of the respected realty tv program. When asked for a quote, Cochran replied "Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds!" before cackling maniacally.

This new challenge is based on the answers that the seven of you provided to the questions I mailed out recently. *Remember, no looking up answers to...

This new challenge is based on the answers that the seven of you provided to the questions I mailed out recently. Remember, no looking up answers to any of these questions during this challenge.

You all anwered the same set of questions that were looking for a numerical estimate. In a moment, I will be revealing everyone's answers to one of the questions, arranging those answers from lowest to highest.

Your goal in this challenge is to bet on whose answer you believe is the closest to the actual answer, without going over.
Each of you will be provided with two betting chips to start. The good thing about these two particular chips is that you can't lose them, even if you bet incorrectly, though any chips earned from betting can potentially be lost.

After I reveal the 7 answers to the question, each of you may post, in this thread, up to two of the answers that you wish to bet one of your tokens on the fact that it is the one that is closest to the correct answer. After all bets have been placed, I will reveal which is the winning answer. All players who had bet on that answer will receive a payout corresponding to that answer on the payout table, which I will explain next.

Answers will be arranged according to where they fall in relation to the rest of the answers provided. Out of all the answers that have been provided, I will find the one out of the seven that falls in the middle. That answer will be worth a payout of 2-1, if it ends up being the closest (as in, if you were to bet 1 token on this answer, you would win 2). The next highest answer, as well as the next lowest, will each be worth 3-1. The next highest and next lowest of those would be worth 4-1, and the highest and lowest guesses 5-1. One final betting option, stating that all seven answers are too high, pays out 6-1.

Any chips earned can then be bet on later rounds of this challenge. Be careful, however, because these tokens will be lost if they are bet on a wrong answer. As mentioned before, however, you cannot lose the initial two tokens that you were given.
There will be SEVEN total rounds in this challenge, one question per round. The person with the highest number of chips by the end of it will be declared our winner.

Let's go ahead and show everybody's answers for the first question, and what their corresponding payout values are.

The first question we'll try is as follows:
In what year did explorer Ferdinand Magellan embark on the first successful attempt to sail around the world?

5-1 - Daniel: 1959

4-1 - Jazzed: 1798

3-1 - Zits: 1622

2-1 - Peter: 1604

3-1 - Simon: 1577

4-1 - KFH: 1535

5-1 - Dennis: 1400

6-1 - All answers too high.

So, there are a few ways you can approach this.. if you're pretty confident in your own answer, feel free to bet on yourself. Or, maybe you know for a fact that Simon is an expert in Portuguese explorers (as a hypothetical example..), maybe he would be a good bet? Keep in mind, too, we are looking for the closest without going over, and since some answers have a greater spread than others, some might have a higher probability of being correct based on the numbers alone. Or, since all bets will be made publically, you can try and bet with the concensus, or copy the bet of someone else that you think will bet correctly,, though these strategies might not win you any friends in the game. Maybe you'll come up with your own strategy!

So please, I invite each of you to place your bets now, here in this thread. You may place one chip on one answer and another chip on a second answer, or both chips on the same answer, if you wish. Remember, you cannot lose these two chips, you have absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain by betting both of them here.

Please have your bets in by Friday at midnight. Giving extra time for this first round, upcoming rounds will likely have a shorter time limit, but you guys have been pretty awesome about being quick thus far.
I will reveal what is to be won by doing well in this game after this first round is finished.

So ends Malcolm's second kick at the cat. He's an entertaining player....

So ends Malcolm's second kick at the cat. He's an entertaining player. He's clever, engaging, people like him. He just couldn't put it all together this time. Personally, I think he should have stuck with Stealth. Joining up with those idiot bros was just counter productive. Even if he wasn't on top of the Stealth alliance, he could have put his efforts into enhancing his position there. I guess he played the cards he felt he was dealt. I'm not sure he made the right decisions though. I think he's done enough over two seasons to guarantee a call back though, once he has a rest.

So the Bros alliance has collapsed. It has right? I mean you can't call two idiots who bonded based on their handsomeness a full fledged alliance can you? Not when they lost the brains of the outfit, the guy with all the ideas and all the connections. Sure, they're bros and they're allies, but as a force, I'm calling the Bros Alliance dead. I can't really imagine the two of them coming up with the strategy this game is going to take to sustain them. When the chips were down, the best Reynold could do by way of convincing Sherri to join them was 5th place. In a three person alliance. Enticing! I'm sure he felt like offering her a chance to be associated with him was its own reward. A chance to sit at the cool kids table! Until you are no longer needed! I'm sure its something Sherri has always dreamed of! Seriously, she's a grown woman, not a high school kid with low self esteem. In fact her boasts about how much power she possesses indicate, perhaps, that her opinion of herself is a little inflated. But taking her chances with a bigger, varied group that might have a few cracks here and there is, I think, a more logical way to go for her.

When I started writing this article, I wasn't intending it to be a hatchet job on the Bros. But thinking about the auction, the big thing that came out of that was Bros utter failure to grab the lifeline which is traditionally extended to the people who need it most. All they have to do is forgo buying a snack until the advantage in the next Immunity comes up, slap down their 500 bucks and they're almost guaranteed another 3 days in the game. So what does Reynold do? Buys a piece of pizza. What does Eddie do? Keeps his money in his pocket, thinking, no doubt, of the shocks on his car that need fixing back home. Malcolm bought an Idol clue, so I don't really have any problem with his purchase. History says, though, that the challenge advantage is always bought by someone in the minority who is in imminent danger of being voted out. Reynold and Eddie fit that description and they passed on the chance. I suppose, in their cockeyed view of things, they don't see themselves in any danger. Opportunity will drop into their laps and the world will save their asses like it has time and time again in this game and, in fact, did yet again this week! Maybe I'm crazy, maybe the world really does look after cool kids and Reynold and Eddie are going to the finals after all, falling ass backwards into a win. That would be an eye opener for me. I'm definitely hoping against it.

As for other auction action, Cochran was clearly the smartest shopper, keeping that advantage out of the hands of the bros and later making good use of it. Andrea got the booby prize when Probst pulled the old bait and switch on her, making her trade her spaghetti for rice and beans for the tribe. There's not really anyway you can say no to that, but its not like anyone isn't going to vote you out because you bought them provisions - proof of that is that the bros tried to vote her out the very next TC. Malcolm, in addition to his clue got a beer and some peanuts, to which Probst added two more beers. Really, he should have saved his money. But he did get away with it, since he still was able to buy his clue . I just sort of think, one beer after three weeks out in the bush would be extremely refreshing. Three beers on an empty stomach when you're dehydrated in the hot sun - that could make doing stuff, like finding a hidden Immunity Idol, quite a bit more challenging. I guess the big loser of the auction, besides the bros who failed to make an effort was Brenda, who paid her money for a plate of pig brains. She tried them but then said she just remembered that she doesn't eat pork. So she loves brains, keep the brains coming, she's up for an all you can eat brains buffet. She's like a zombie she loves brains so much. But not pig brains. Any other kind of brains are fine. Is the brain part of a pig even considered pork? I think brains are brains. I don't think I will ever forget that I don't eat brains. Maybe Brenda could have offered to sell her plate to Reynold and Eddie. God knows they could use some brains! :P

As I said, Cochran puts his advantage to good use and wins immunity. The bros are ineffective at convincing people to flip. But one more matter could throw a wrench into the Stealth/Faves plans: the idol which Malcolm has a clue to. Andrea uses a very simple but very effective method to put the kibosh on Malcom's search. She follows him and watches him. And she doesn't stop watching him. It turns out this works so well that I don't know why people don't do this all the time. I suppose clues are usually secret but it so happened that everyone saw Malcolm buy this one, so it made sense to put him on 24 hour watch. I mean, it's not like there's much else to do, so why not watch Malcolm do stuff all day? Like I say, it worked, so I can't argue with it. I'm sure if Malcolm has one regret its that he couldn't find some way to find and slip that idol out from under his opponents watchful eyes.

Personally, I think his regret should be hooking up with those bonehead bros. But thats just me! :P

Congratulations Philip Sheppard haters, this week's episode represents something you have been yearning for for two long seasons; Philip's long awaited demise at a tribal council. You have Malcolm to thank and I'm sure he'll long be remebered in song and story for his deeds. He might even come back for another season - perhaps as captain of a tribe pitted against a Philip-headed tribe à la Russell vs Rob. I could totally see that, though I wouldn't necessarily want to. Anyway, L'm not really a Philip hater. I used to be when he was a mere tool for Boston Rob, and even earlier in the season when he was getting a lot of confessionals to talk nonsense. But we've been getting him in smaller doses lately, probably due to the fact that there a few more people on this season with something interesting to say compared to his original season. Also, he's stopped with the saggy pink underwear. I'm more of a Philip sympathizer now, or maybe a Philip understander. Well, not quite, I don't think anyone can truly understand the mind of Philip Sheppard; not without a degree in abnormal psychology anyway. But, really, he was playing the game a lot better this time. He was in an alliance where several people had a shot at the thing, not one which was only serving one person. He had allies who were working together successfully. He seemed destined for final 3 again this time, only with a bit better chance to win it. It was pretty bad luck for him that Malcolm has a knack for finding idols and the challenges are not favouring his particular skill set which is...I dunno, lying or exaggerating or playing basketball against giants and stuff. I'll admit, I'm a little sad to see him go. Not because I wanted him to win; no, I wouldn't want to see that at all. More because as an ally of Cochran and Dawn and an opponent of Reynold and Eddie, he was helping the game go in the sort of direction I wished to see it go. In the end, I'm thinking Philip will be pretty happy with how the game played out. He went out a hero, falling on his sword to keep his alliance united and give them a chance to come back and fight another day. He won't have to make excuses about why he got so few votes at the end or anything like that, he can just let his legend grow in his own mind until he takes his place next to the other greatest players to never win the game. Or until he gets that third chance that I bet is coming.

I've always claimed to be a Malcolm fan. And I still am. But, well, he's no Cochran, and I'm completely backing Cochran this season. Also, he's allied with Reynold and Eddie, and I'm completely against those two idiots. So, until Malcolm reverses course and scuttles the Brolliance, I just can't get onside with him. He has been keeping things interesting, so good on him. Finding a new idol and bringing out an unknown one to throw tc into utter chaos was pretty good stuff. Definitely an entertaining display. I think targeting Philip was a pretty good plan since Phil was sort of the glue between various parts of the Stealth alliance. However, telling Philip he sucks the fun out of everything was a little low. I thought Malcolm was above the need to kick a guy, even an annoying guy, when he's down. Besides, this is a jury member you're talking to, and kind of an unstable, non-logical one. Why not just say 'Phil's the leader, we're targeting him' and let him go out thinking you respected his leadership? I'm also not sure, despite the excitement it caused that the extravagant use of idols was the best course of action for Malcolm. Why not let Eddie go down and keep the other idol for later? That guarantees you six more days on the island instead of three which is double the time to work some magic. Besides, you might win immunity next time, especially if its anything like this week's. Seriously, did they think one of the mom's of the tribe had a chance at this? Or a sweater vest wearing, skinny armed dweeb? Or a 50 year old nut who is (apparently) deathly afraid of going underwater? No, this one was purely physical, favouring someone with lots of upper body strength. Which guys like Reynold and Eddie and Malcolm have. Someone from the Brolliance was destined to win this one, despite the good effort put in by Brenda. Anyway, if Malcolm let Eddie twist in the wind this week and let him go home, He's still got a good chance to win Immunity. If he doesn't, Reynold can win it, Malcolm plays his second idol and both those guys are headed deeper in the game. He could even find another idol, thats another three days and he's getting close to the end. As it is Malcolm put everything he had on the table and now he's got to start from scratch. It could still work, I just wonder about the other option.
The teaser for this episode had Dawn threatening, for some reason, to pull herself from the game. I think most of us assumed it had something to do with some kind of fallout over her double-agent thing with Malcolm and Reynold and the emotional wear and tear over that. Turns out it was emotional wear and tear, but over losing her false teeth, rather than anything game-related. I guess thats stressful and all that. But to the home viewer, you're going to come off as a bit of a flake acting like that. Generally, stable clinically minded mentally tough people are the fan favorites. Crazy flakes might be sympathized with, to an extent, but we don't have a lot of time for them. I think we were all happy when Kathy from the first Fans and Favorites took herself out of the game. Personally, I loved emotional trainwreck Sugar, but most aren't that crazy about her. Dawn's treading a fine line here. I mean, she has periods of clear-minded lucidity when she's strategizing and figuring out the best moves. Next thing you know, she's standing on the beach sobbing. I get the feeling these breakdowns happen all too often. When she lost her teeth she was crying and shreiking bloody murder and calling out Brenda's name. Brenda came running but nobody else moved a muscle to see what was wrong. They're all like 'Oh thank God she's calling Brenda this time, I'm off the hook'. It's like they've all been hollered at from the other side of the island before, this time it was Brenda because she is good in the water. She's probably already gone "GaaaAAAaaaaaahhHHhhh!!! Cochran!!-Sob- HeeeeLLLppppp! I need legal advice!!!" or "WWAaaaHHHhhhhhhhhhh, Erik! I need a cartoon drawn and an ice cream cone!!!" Anyway, Brenda saves the day and in fact ingratiated herself with Dawn a lot, which is great because thats the first strategically positive thing I think I've seen Brenda do, even if it was sort of just a side effect of doing a good deed, because thats what you do. It didn't fully repair Dawn's damaged psyche or anything because she had plenty of other smaller breakdowns throughout the show, but at least she didn't have to leave the show and she doesn't have to cover her mouth with her hand for the rest of the season.

I know they're trying to say Erik and Sherri might flip the game around now. I don't really see how that makes sense. Wouldn't you rather take the challenge threats out of the game now? Plus, with Philip gone, it seems like Stealth is just as likely to become a tighter group as to break up. So I'm not sure crazy unpredictable hijinks are about to ensue. But then again, people have made dumb moves before. And they could always sprinkle the island liberally with Immunity Idols. So the game isn't over yet. Lets see if Malcolm has any more tricks to drag his idiot bros deeper into the game.

The eight of you have been randomly divided into two teams of 4 for this challenge:

Team 1:
Gordonst
KFH
Dennis
Simon

Team 2:
Jazzed
Daniel
Zits
Peter

I am giving each of you the same set of four cards. Each card displays an item that you can earn for yourself in this challenge. The four items are:

a) +4 voting tokens
b) +2 voting tokens
c) nothing
d) +2 penalty votes against yourself

Hey, I never said they were all good items.
And, oh yes, this is indeed "that" challenge...

Your team's goal is to have each player choose to claim a different item. If only one player claims a particular item, that player wins that item. If, however, more than one player claims the same item, that item is cancelled out, and nobody wins it.

To claim an item, simply sent me a PM stating your choice.

The first team to have all 4 members claim a different item will earn SAFETY for the entire team.

That's right, it's a race. You, as a team need to sort this out as quickly as possible or risk being one of only 4 vulnerable players for elimination this round. The clock stops for your team the minute the last player from the team sends me their PM stating what they wish to claim.

If neither team is able to successfully claim one item each, I will reveal what each player claimed before opening it up once again and allowing any players to make changes to what they have claimed. If there is still no team that has been successful, well I guess no one will be safe this round will they?

Zits, you may still decide to jump ship if you wish, let me know.

Please note, two players were offered a chance to open PANDORA'S BOXthis round. Had either one chosen to open it, there would have been one more challenge in this round of the game. Because both players declined to open it, this is the only challenge we will have before the next vote and elimination.

Good luck!
