TV FunSpot Mission Statement

Mission Statement

To promote and foster a friendly and welcoming environment to all it's members.

To encourage discussion while allowing for differences of opinion to be voiced in a mature manner.

Membership

The TV FunSpot is a public forum, and anybody who wishes to may register and post. We encourage a respectful and intelligent member base.

Prohibited Behaviors

    1. Starting or continuing to flame or bait any member of the forum
    2. Posting derogatory remarks about religions, nations, race, sexual orientation, age or disability
    3. Offensive posts in any language, including, but not limited to:

profanity (PG-13) - if it's a word bleeped out of primetime TV, don't use it!

explicit sexual references

harassment

    4. Excessive use of slang is highly discouraged
    5. Uploading or linking to inappropriate pictures or videos
    6. Links to external websites deemed inappropriate
    7. Spamming, via posts or private messages
    8. Using the PM system to send sexually explicit, offensive or discriminatory items
    9. Slander or libel
    10. Hotlinking images to other sites (please save to your computer and upload to an image hosting site)
    11. Religious proselytizing
    12. Advertising for commercial sites
    13. Advocating acts that constitute felonies under US law

14. Plagiarism of site materials, including but not limited to original articles, game innovations, any original materials used on the site:

            This also includes taking materials and sharing them for use by others at other sites
    15. Making malicious comments about the TV FunSpot or its staff, on this forum or others, or on any website
    16. Public criticism of a moderator's actions - please contact an administrator
    17. Requesting that a member be banned, or implying that they will be - simply report problems to the staff

Postings Guidelines
    1. Copyrighted materials posted on the TV FunSpot must state the source in full
    2. Permission to republish copyrighted materials must be granted for items which are not covered

        under the Fair Use Provision of Title 17, U.S.C. Section 107
    3. When starting a new thread, please make sure that there isn't a relevant thread about that topic already
    4. Topics must be posted in the appropriate forum and those that aren't will be moved to the appropriate place

Avatars - Signatures - Private Messages
    Restrictions on Avatars

125 x 125 Pixels or 40.9 KB

Vulgar, offensive or pornographic avatars are prohibited

Restrictions on Signatures

600 pixels wide x 150 pixels high limit or 20KB

Please do not use animated or gif images

Maximum number of images is 4

Advertisements for other websites must be modest in size

Private Messages

Each member has a Private Message Box that can hold up to 1,000 messages

Please do not go over this limit or you will not be able to receive new messages

The maximum number of private messages that can be sent at 1 time is 20

Other Rules
    1. Multiple accounts by the same person are strictly prohibited, if you wish to change your username, contact an administrator
    2. The administration of TV FunSpot, without notice, reserves the right to delete any topic or post and ban any user at any time
    3. Violations of criminal or civil law are not be tolerated and will be reported to the proper authorities

    4. If you are unsure if about any of these rules, contact an administrator or moderator for clarification
    5. If you feel that a member is in violation of forum rules, please report the situation to a member of the staff
    6. The rules are subject to change at any time, without previous notice

Consequences for Violation of Forum Rules
    1. Warning or infraction issued by a moderator or administrator
    2. Editing or deletion of the offending post
    3. Account suspension
    4. Permanent ban

FunSpot's Infraction System

If you break a rule at the FunSpot, a moderator will deliver either a warning or an infraction depending on the offence. Each warning or infraction is worth a different amount of points. If you reach or exceed 10 points, you will be automatically banned. Warnings have a value of 0 infraction points, as they only precede disciplinary action, but an infraction includes a pre-determined amount of points depending on the rule broken. For example, if you make a minor personal attack on another member, you will have 4 points added to your infraction total. Bans range in length depending on how many rules you may have broken and how severe they were. The FunSpot Infraction System is set in place in case anything happens, but let's try and make sure that it doesn't come to this for anyone; all you must do is follow the rules and have fun.
