DWTS 6 05/19/08 Consider it a LOCK!

Tonight – the GROUP ChaCha Face Off! And the Freestyle

The finalists draw their order for the Cha-Cha –
1st up are Christian & Cheryl 2nd are Jason & Edyta And in the end spot are Kristi & Mark
Christian is trying all kinds of crazy moves and messing up a lot in practice.
Jason is hoping to improve his cha-cha marks
Kristi has to work hard to get her personality to show.

The music is “Dancing on the Ceiling”
Christian comes down the stairs and jumps out to Cheryl (Christian’s shirt open, I almost watched the dance)
Jason isn’t a latin dancer – a lot of posing and Edyta filling in the blanks. But he is smooth and elegant.
– and Kristi pops over to plant a kiss on Bruno when she comes out. And She and Mark turn it on in the cha-cha. Lots of quick, complex moves

Then final move had Jason and Christian holding Kristi up high over the heads of the professionals. It was a great looking move.

You can tell all 3 of these finalists actually like each other. It’s a really feel good group.
Len: Got me going, loved it. Fantastic idea. Christian has great hips and rhythm. Jason has elegance. Kristi had the technique and style , and hips and rhythm. Complete package.
Bruno: All so well. Christian – for some who could hardly bang at the beginning you banged like the best, showed such improvement. Jason, very athletic and very good. Kristi – in a class of your own.
Carrie Ann: Really interesting, watching them back to back. You really get to see who is the best. Christian – fantastic, great energy – some movements clipped, posture lacking. Jason – I know this is your hardest dance but you carried it off. Kristi – LADIES NIGHT – you won hand down.

And now the Freestyle round –
Kirsti and Mark –
Want to bring strength and personality. Kristi is worried about hurting Mark in the lifts, she has to throw him into a backflip. So they have a visit from Julianne to show Kristi how to get it done.

They come out in PJs and robes and take them off to show sparkley outfits with converse shoes – lots of lifts and complex moves. Very good. K has a little trouble with the moon walk, but it’s a full-packed routine. And she manages to get Mark into the backflip without landing on his head.
Bruno: what an inspiring fusion of mambo and hip-hop. So demanding and so difficult. Worthy of the championship.
Carrie Ann: You were the big crowd pleaser. Every type of move, everything.
Len: I’m not a lover of hip-hop, when it is in a latin dance – this held my attention. Quick, energy. Loved it.

A shot backstage, and the boys pretty much think it has been won.

Jason & Edyta -
They can’t hold back. Jason feels his height will hold him back. Edyta is really excited. All 6 seasons and is be her first time to the finals. And Jason’s family (wife and kids) come by to help him relax and practice lifts.

Jason comes out with a beach ball, and Edyta in a sundress – which doesn’t stay on long before it is gone and the bikini outfit is it. A LOT of lifts (and Jason’s shirt is off) – and fun steps It’s a fun number – party style. And then she rips off his undershirt. Going for the bare chest votes!
Carrie Ann: Nice ending. Congratulates Edyta on making the finals. Jason – who knew you could get funky. Great lifts.
Len: liked the humor, great lifts. *and some not too nice pictures about len in a speedo.
Bruno: like watching centerfolds , and the dance wasn’t bad. Fun and funky.

Christian & Cheryl –
Will he survive the freestyle with his injury. Christian thinks he is dressed for war – Cheryl welcomes him to the freestyle.
The freestyle can be dangerous, but Christian doesn’t want to hold back. And he hurts his arm in practice again. But he wants to keep going. Cheryl brought her trophy to rehearsal.

A very Latin flavor, as expected. Great movements from both of them. And quite a few lifts – pretty good considering. (and the glitter is back on his arm bandage)
I am going to need a cold shower after this. I loved it.
Len: I loved the latin/American flavor. But the lifts didn’t match the standard of the others.
Bruno: lots of shaking. One arm, you did well. A true latin stallion.
Carrie Ann: freestyle is putting it on the floor. I see a winner in Christian in so many ways, but Kristi did the best.
