After days of preparation, the rankings were sent in, and the alliances have been formed! Before we get to the alliances, this season's pool has been titled Back To Basics, and my goal is to have a basic season, but with this mentor twist, it appears to be anything but! Here is the Point Spread as of now.

For those of you who have played in the past, this should be very similar to the past. The mentor/returning veteran twist is still up in the air, what happens with it is very open to any number of things, I'll establish them when I know what they are going to do.

One of my most favorite things is finding out the statistics about who likes who, why and how it reflects as the season goes on. For the first two seasons I did this pool, the least popular HouseGuest went on to win the whole thing (Dan and Adam), however season 11, the least popular was eliminated first (Braden). I also find it interested when there is an outright landslide for a favorite and how that changes. Remember Lydia , by FAR the favorite of the pre-season 11. How about Matt two seasons ago? How many of you actually still like these two after their season? Season 13 I didn't do the pool, so no fun facts there. Season 14's group is very polarizing, which makes for good TV I suppose. When ranking 1-12 as you guys did, I averaged it out, and the "Most Popular" only scored a 5.4 out of 12.

Next most popular was our most popular girl! This is the same rank as Season 12's most popular girl, but much less so at a 5.7 out of 12 average ranking.

Ian was my troublesome House Guest that many of you not only wanted, but really wanted and ranked him very high. However, many of you also ranked him 10th and 11th. Brendon was this kind of polarizing on his first season.

For 6th and 7th Place, we have another tie at a 6.7 average ranking.

These two, and one other House Guest, are only represented twice because overall, these two were very middle of the road and since I try my best to get you 3 people from your Top 5, they didn't get much attention.

Alright, the next batch of House Guests ranked is ranked 8th with a 6.8 average. I consider this to be one of the most surprising.

I would have assumed Willie would be the least popular (though one of my favorites, most people just don't agree with me. ) so I found it suprising 4 others ranked lower!

The next batch did pretty poorly, 9th, 10th and 11th place had a 6.9, 7.1 and 7.2 average. They are....

Jenn takes Hayden's place. Winners rarely do well in our popularity contests early on. Will Jenn take the win?

Kara in 10th place was another character I found surprising. I would have picked Kara as one of my favorites, but you all disagreed. She has no 1st or 2nd place picks, so she also got represented twice amongst you all.

Wil was pretty unremarkable as well, I would have ranked him low too.

Last up, is the last place winner. Will the trend return from Seasons 9 and 10? I actually think this House Guest has a great chance.

I'm excited to get started guys! Tonight we'll see an HOH competition and meet the House Guests in the Diary Room. Good luck to everyone and I hope everyone is happy with their Alliance. Start thinking of who you want for your Veteran, and once I have a better idea what they are doing there, we'll go about adding them into your alliances.

Lastly, one of the fun things about this pool, at least I think, you have the opportunity to name your alliance! Previous seasons have some GREAT names and this is just inspired from The Soverign Six, the Friendship, LNS Crew, The Brigade, etc. All of the best alliances from Big Brother had names, yours should too!

Quite an interesting first episode. I'm sorry to hear that many of you already lost out on a member of your alliance with Jodi getting the boot. I'm deciding I am already enjoying this group though better than past seasons, so I'm happy to cover it with my mini-recaps and commentary. All the opinions I had of these guys seems to be sticking, and again, completely shocked Kara was so unpopular amongst this group!

The coach twist has thrown my plans for a Back To Basics season out the window. Realistically, I started this pool Season 9 (which they seem to want to forget) and the twists they threw in that season tried to mess me up, so I got this. We have revealed the coaches are Mike, Dan, Britney and Janelle and for the first time in The Alliance pool history you will get to add to your Alliance AFTER the first episode. However, this is a limited time offer, and I'll assign you a coach if you do not get your requests in. I would like each of you to rank the mentors in order of preference. I make no promises with a group of 4 and a strong likelihood everyone likes the same mentor, but I'll do my best as usual. There will be points for the Mentors to earn! This could be a GREAT time to name your alliance as well. Just saying.....

For the House Guests in game, Willie won the first Head of Household of the season and with that an early lead of 40 points. Jodi was already evicted! But with no nominations, she didn't gain the usual 15 points, so I'm not going to be mean and take away 15 points too, but she remains at 0. Here is the Memory Wall!

I never know how comitted I'm going to be to the show as the season goes on (usually not very) so I never sign up for this game. But its always a super fun way to follow along with the season. I love how interactive and twisty this game always is

I did watch most of the first show and thought it was quite good. The houseguests seemed mostly likeable and interesting and who the coaches were going to pick added some suspense and mystery.
