The Amazing Race 18 – Episode 3 – Jaime Came This Much Closer To Her Dream Of Killing Someone
Jaime Came This Much Closer To Her Dream Of Killing Someone

Greetings my loyal minions, Maxx Fisher here,

The Amazing Race is back. Yes I know it premiere 2 weeks ago, but last week I chose to watch The Oscars rather than TAR (Big Mistake). So to me, it’s like the show is returning. And we finally had a team go home. Yes I know that Kris & Amanda went home last week, but they shouldn’t have been on the show in the first place since they sucked the first time around. Wow I made a judgment on someone, shocking turn of events. It’s not like I hit someone’s car & then blamed them for the inconvenience, but more on that later.

All the teams needed to find their way to Tokyo Japan and go to a parking garage. The teams have 2 options with travel: A direct flight that arrives at 6:15 am or a connecting flight that arrives at 6:00 am. The teams seem reluctant on taking this chance, which seemed odd considering their choices later. Mike wants to take the chance on the connecting flight and pretty much talks his dad & Margie & Luke into taking it too. Zev & Justin and The Globetrotters also want to be on that early flight but at that point (after Kent & Vyxsin had gotten their tickets) but there were only enough tickets left for 1 team. Because Zev & Justin gave the Globetrotters the answer to a clue back in Australia, they decided to pay them back by letting them take the seats. So here is the breakdown of the flights:

6:00am flight
Zev & Justin
Kent & Vyxsin
Jaime & Cara
Mel & Mike
Margie & Luke

6:15am flight
Jet & Cord
Gary & Mallory
Ron & Christina
Flight Time & Big Easy
Jen & Kisha

Oh but how could you not see this coming, there was a delay in the earlier flight. This is the second time this has happened? Is CBS doing this? Did they give that guy the heart attack in the first episode? Did they hit the plane with a giant wrench this time around? Whatever made this happened, the 6:00am flight arrived at 7:20am. The teams landed and had to go pick up their cars at the most awesome parking garage ever. The vehicles were on some sort of rotating wheel and each team had to wait for the team before them to get their car, or they could hit the button on a machine that made the wheel continue rotating and jump them ahead. Jaime & Cara did this and you could tell the other teams have lost patience with them. Big easy looked like he was wearing the tiny car they were given. The teams then headed off to the Yabusame Dojo. The teams from the first flight all seem to have some problems finding the place. Christina asks a local where they need to go and Ron says that woman has probably doomed them can called her inept. Nice to know he’s not a total bastard to just his daughter. The Cowboys are just insanely lost. Ron & Christina are the first to arrive at the dojo. I guess that woman wasn’t so inept.

Road Block
A member of each team would need to perform a Yabusame ritual and then shoot a target with an arrow
1 Ron
2 Gary
3 Flight Time
4 Jen
5 Justin
6 Kent
7 Mike
8 Luke
9 Cord
10 Jaime

This task appeared to be very easy, but I guess from watching everyone screw up, it might have been more complicated. With the late flight there seems to be a caravan of 4 teams (Mike & Mel, Kent & Vyxsin, Margie & Luke, Jaime & Cara) all following Mel & Mike. It’s not like any of them know where they’re going, but Mike has a map, a map that seems to suck since they stop and try to figure out where they need to go. This stop allows Zev & Justin to just pass them by and move ahead. Jamie & Cara get out of their car to find someone that will speak to them in English, the language God intended all people to speak, so they can get directions. The other 3 teams in the caravan know a golden opportunity when they see one and take off, leaving the Reds to eat their dust. I don’t know if it was anger over this, bad driving or her natural hate for all foreigners, but Jaime hit someone’s car, breaking their mirror.

Jaime just wanted to give the guy some money and move on, but he was not having that and brought the police into it. This did not sit well with the fiery cheerleader/Playboy model/anger ambassador. She was made at the guy she hit for making her lose time. Gee I wonder why some one living in Japan would want to bring in the police when someone from another country hits their car, I mean he had to know Jaime would be in Japan for weeks incase something went wrong. I think if the roles were reversed & Jaime’s car was hit by a tourist here in America she would call Homeland Security and have them shipped off to a federal prison.

Back to the Road Block, Jen & Justin were great at it because they were the first 2 teams done. Ron sucked. What was that about inept Ron? This task was practically a bunch up. Half them teams couldn’t find the place and they other half were so bad at it, other teams were able to catch up. Hell, there were still teams there when the Redheads arrived. After the Roadblock each team had to drive to their next clue that directed them to the Detour.

Prayer of Purity: Teams would change, learn a prayer that was mildly physical and then stand under a FREEZING waterfall for 1 minute
Frog of Luck: the teams would change into some sort of diaper, then look in a giant mud pool for a plastic frog while people threw mud at them.

8 of the ten teams chose the Frog. This is a needle in a haystack challenge. It is 90% luck, yet some of those teams chose not to take a chance on the connecting flight, which also involves a lot of luck. I’ll talk about the Prayer one first since I’m sure this will be a little controversial.

Ron & Christina and the Globetrotter did this challenge. It was on the side of a mountain. It actually looked beautiful. Christina brought her fanny pack up with her, it had all their money and paperwork, she did not want it out of their sight, makes sense. When the Globetrotters finished the task they grabbed their backpacks AND Christina’s fanny pack. Before they left the area, they put it next to Ron’s stuff in the changing room. When the father & daughter saw that it was missing, they had a quick panic and then realized the guys had grabbed her bag too. I think they assumed it was taken on accident. That is my assumption too. They know the rules and were ahead so intentionally taking someone’s things would be idiotic. Now when they see that the Globetrotter left t behind they got mad. The fact that they left it behind meant that they saw they made a mistake and rather than bring it back to Ron & Christina and lose a little time, they just put it down. Not a cool move.

Now to the mud pit. Like I said I would have chosen the prayer one myself, but to each his own. Zev & Justin were the first to arrive and the first to finish. This was amusing to watch because Zev did not want to get dirty. Hell in his first race he didn’t want to get his feet wet so you knew mud would be a problem. I would like to point out that Mallory looks pretty good in a Japanese mud diaper and she was just having a blast in the mud so that left it to Gary to find the frog. Mallory also told the Japanese men in the mud pool to be on the lookout for a couple of redheads that would look good in the outfits. Kisha managed to improve US/Japanese relations by almost continuously flashing everyone. Kent was completely useless during this challenge. He didn’t want to get muddy and left it all for Vyxsin to do, and looking good doing it, she was not happy and made her feeling about that known.

Mel & Mike were in a bit of a spot here. It was cold out, night and it had started raining. Mike wanted to stop. He was concerned about his dad and I would have been too. I mean concerned about Mel, not my dad. He can freeze all he wants. They were the only team out there when Mike insisted they stop and get in the Ambulance (which I think might be there for most challenges) to warm up. So when Jaime & Cara finally got there, looking good in those outfits, they assumed that they were dead last. That assumption continued to the mat when the girls told Phil they were the last team to arrive and were eliminated. Well Phil was having none of that presumptuousness and told them how wrong they were, but deep, deep down he probably wanted them gone. Mel & Mike finally got to the mat and were sent packing and it was just as sad as it was the first time they were eliminated.

1 Zev & Justin
2 Gary & Mallory
3 Ron & Christina
4 Flight Time & Big Easy
5 Jen & Kisha
6 Jet & Cord
7 Kent & Vyxsin
8 Margie & Luke
9 Jaime & Cara
10 Mike & Mel

Originally the Globetrotters were in third, but once Christina dropped a dime on them over Fanny Packgate, Phil slapped them with a 30 minute penalty putting them in 4th place.

I leave you with this my broken mirrors and broken dreams, is there any chance that Ron is any nicer to Christina when they aren’t racing? Did she go on this race just to document how horrible he is so when she dances on his grave she won’t look so bad? And now that Jaime has tasted blood with that car, what weapon will she use next to destroy? She does know how to shoot an arrow now.

Later Minion
