We had so much snow here that our power went off a few times. then just when I was watching the ladies long program the satellite dish went out. It seems it was covered with so much snow that the signal couldn't get through. I had to wake my husband up at midnight and get him to climb up and clean it off. I am not completely heartless. In fact I felt really bad for waking him and sending him out into the storm..but I take my Olympics very seriously. LOL

Its really mild here too. It might be a nice day to go get the cross country skis on and take my dog for a real run.

On Sunday my daughter called me really early in the morning and I could hear sirens in the background. She said they were telling everyone to leave the island or to go to the highest part because a tsunami was going to hit in 22 hours. She was on a tiny island and there was no way off until morning. I was so worried about her . Thank God they downgraded it a few hours later. She called me back and said they got very high waves and minor flooding but that she was ok. I dont think I will complain about Canadian weather for a while after that.

Actually, Hal, the harsh winters are further proof of global warming. The polar ice caps are melting breaking off large chunks of ice. What happens when large chunks of ice get closer to you? You get colder. Global warming does not mean we will only get warmer.

Sorry for the bit rant but it's a pet peeve of mine when people who don't really understand the science try to say that this winter disproves global warming when in reality it further solidifies proof. ...

I should post this is the rant thread?

That really sucks for people like me that live in one of the most extreme climates in the world..we have hot humid summers and bloody cold winters with a handful of comfortable days in between.

It has been sunny and mild the last few days. The forecast is 9C and sunny on Sunday. Oh please, let this be true.

WOW! Thats pretty extreme BBG. It was great here last week too. I was wearing short sleeves and it as comfortable. All the snow melted but now we are having a cold front move in. I know winter is not done screwing with us just yet. I have come home from Mexico in June and found snow on the ground here,

Snow in Texas!

Cloudy and cool this weekend. Not a lick of snow or ice anywhere on the streets.
