Ok I am not one to judge, but I have to say, this guy sounds like the clown of the group. I am hoping that he delivers on some comedy this season.

Survivor: Fiji Interview: Dreamz (Andria 'Dreamz' Herd)

Quote:
by Staci Krause
May 17, 2007 - Survivor: Fiji saw in its final three, Earl, the big Winner, and Cassandra and Dreamz, who both walked away without garnering a single vote in their favor from the jury. Regardless, Dreamz did manage to make the final three and tie for second, no small feat for the game of Survivor. He backstabbed, betrayed, lied and ultimately has been blamed for the demise of fan favorite Yau-man, but he did all this with a smile on his face and a light-heartedness that let us know it was never malicious.

We talked to Dreamz about his decision not to give Yau-man the idol, how he prepared for the challenges he would face in Fiji and the bonds he made. He spoke about his relationships with Rocky and Stacy and what strategy he tried to employ.

IGN TV: How did you prepare for the physical and mental challenges?

Dreamz: I used to get up in the morning early. I wouldn't eat breakfast or nothing. I would make sure I was hungry. And then I would go play sports, play basketball until I was real tired. Or at night, I would be hungry and I would just run, run, run, run, run, and then after I finished running, I would try to put a puzzle together while I'm tired, to see how my brain would process while I'm drop dead tired. I just did a whole bunch of stuff like that.

IGN TV: Did it help?

Dreamz: Oh, it helped so much. Some people can't think when they're tired.

IGN TV: When you got to Fiji, was it what you expected?

Dreamz: Before I got to Fiji, I didn't know what to expect. So, I don't know. I can't answer that question. I didn't know what to expect. I didn't really expect anything. Most of the time, if you expect something, you are wrong and then you are all off and you have to replot everything.

IGN TV: What were you thinking as all 19 of you were working together to build a shelter?

Dreamz: Well, when we was working together, I was like 'oh, if I get in an alliance now, I'll be safe for a while.' On day 3, we still wasn't split up yet. We split at the middle of day 3. So, on day 3, I was starting to get scared, thinking, 'oh man, if we vote each other out one at a time, just according to this, everyone's going to think I'm a physical threat and just get rid of me now.' So I was kind of nervous about that.

IGN TV: Were you surprised about the diversity of the casting?

Dreamz: No, I wasn't. I thought that they was going to do the same thing as last season. I counted, but I couldn't figure out… I counted five black people and I counted five Asians, but I couldn't divide the Hispanics and the white people. So, that's when that question came up, 'how many white people are here?' It's kind of funny how they edited it, though.

IGN TV: How do you think the show represented you and your personality?

Dreamz: It didn't show me as the person that I am. It was just showing me doing strategy and showing me at my tiredest. I like to laugh. That's the kind of person that I am. I'm always laughing, always having fun pretty much. On the show, you can't really play all that stuff all the time, because you're tired, you're hungry, you got to strategize, you got to keep going at all times. It displayed me as the person that I am in that situation, but in real life, we don't have to plot against each other.

IGN TV: What was the situation between you and Rocky?

Dreamz: It wasn't on TV, but really what led up to that confrontation, is we was all laying down on the mats and stuff and I was just playing around, like 'whoa, whoa, who is taking the mats away from me?' He was just pulling on the mat. It wasn't like he was doing it hard. And I was like 'who is trying to take my mat?' And you know how Rocky gets when he gets sleepy or hungry, he gets snappy. And it was day 2 and he was like 'it's just me, alright, chill, chill.' And I'm like 'whoa, dude, who you yelling out?' And then he just blew up. He was like 'you want to take a walk on the beach?' And I was like 'whatever,' cause I was ready to fight.

IGN TV: Did you and Rocky end up getting along at some point?

Dreamz: Yeah, me and Rocky get along so much better right now. Actually we got along better after we had that argument. And then we didn't get along no more cause we split up and he still had a little vendetta against me and then we started getting along a lot better after that.

IGN TV: Did you bond with anyone?

Dreamz: Yeah, I bonded with Cassandra, Earl, Stacy… I bonded with Yau-man. I bonded with Boo a lot, too, a lot more than we was. On the island, we didn't get along at all. At all. I'm surprised they didn't show that.

IGN TV: So you mentioned you bonded with Stacy. That's surprising because earlier in the season, you and her seemed to have a lot of issues.

Dreamz: Oh yeah, but we fixed that. After that challenge where she got all that bad stuff, it kind of really did hurt her feelings. She was like 'hey guys, what do I do that makes you guys so?' And she'll ask questions. Everybody else was still in game mode. But Cassandra didn't go in game mode. Cassandra talked to her and hung out with her and stuff. And that made me talk to her and hang out with her. And that's when we just started actually talking and communicating with each other.

IGN TV: What do you wish they would have shown from your experience that they didn't?

Dreamz: Everything looked good to me, but they could have showed more unedited and stuff. I was Dreamz on the show. I like the show how it went. I can't act on the show. That was good to me. Everything had its justice in the end. It all came down to who played the best game. I think everything played out perfect and showed perfect.

IGN TV: When you were considering strategy, did you think you would play the game lying as much as possible and then at the end, you'll get the vote because you duped them all so well?

Dreamz: Oh no. I never expected to win. I always knew either Earl or Yau-man was going to beat me. I went out there shooting for first. But after everything happened and everything was going so well, I thought, man, if I can get to the merge, at least I can come in at least second, which quickly turned to third, that I was thinking my head. At least I can come in third. But as the thing came up, I was thinking that maybe I can get second, with me, Earl and Cassandra. And it just so happened that me and Cassandra both got second. I knew whoever, if Yau-man was there or if Earl was there, it was going to be a clean sweep across the board.

IGN TV: So you weren't surprised when it was an unanimous vote for Earl.?

Dreamz: No, I wasn't surprised at all. I knew Earl was going to win regardless of how it was going to happen.

IGN TV: So your strategy was playing for second at a certain point?

Dreamz: I couldn't get back in with the people. And the people I was in with, I had to use. I had to stab them in the back at the time. I knew they was just bitter. They didn't really know how to play the game. If they knew how to play the game, they would have been like 'oh, ok, he outsmarted me', but they really didn't. They were just saying 'oh he lied' and they were mad because I lied to them, but they were lying to everybody else.

IGN TV: Were you surprised at the level of animosity that was directed towards you during the final tribal council?

Dreamz: To tell you the truth, I thought it was going to be way worse. Because of what I did to them. They were so bitter. Edgardo didn't even say nothing. Edgardo was just mad. He wouldn't even talk to me after everything. Like on the plane ride or nothing. None of that stuff.

IGN TV: Is he talking to you now?

Dreamz: Oh yeah. Everybody's cool now. Everybody's good now. I'm just happy with that.

IGN TV: So what was your general opinion of the twist with the haves and have-nots?

Dreamz: I feel if I was on the other squad, it wouldn't have been so bad. I don't feel that the other squad would have been so bad. They were voting off their strong people first. They were just making a bunch of stupid moves. I think the show would have been a lot better if there would have been at least a little bit of strategic people over there. The only strategic person that was over there was Yau-man, but he couldn't really say 'hey this wouldn't be a good idea' because he felt he was on the chopping block and his only strategic move was to stay out of the controversy that was happening.

IGN TV: You experienced both sides, having and not having. Did not having really impact the game that much?

Dreamz: I think that more or less had to do with the people that was on it. Mookie had already had a losing spirit. It don't take much for him to stop trying as hard. I guess it had a lot to do with, for some people, the way they perform, if they ain't eating or whatever, but it had a lot to do with his mind. And Lisi, she had the same spirit. She'd give up. It was like nothing for her to give up, to quit in the middle of challenges. I think that played a lot on it. I think me, Alex and Edgardo, 100% the whole time just played our hardest.

IGN TV: What about the Exile Island twist this season with the idol being in camp, was that a shock?

Dreamz: Yes, I thought that was a real good twist. To find the immunity idol, either everybody had to be gone at the camp, which rarely ever happened, or everybody had to see that you had it. And if everybody's gone except for one person, everybody's out talking about that one person. I thought that was a cool twist also.

IGN TV: How surprised were you when Mookie told you he had the idol?

Dreamz: Oh, that was kind of serious. I was supposed to in their alliance, or whatever, and he just showed me that I couldn't trust them. It made me actually know that I was moving too slow and I had to stop thinking with my feelings, like oh they my friends still, so I'm just going to keep them around a little bit longer then I'm going to chop them down. They had to go anyway, so it let me know that, ok, it's time for me to chop them down now. I gotta move. It let me know that I had to move and make moves.

IGN TV: At the tribal council where Yau-man was voted off, you seemed to be struggling with your decision about giving Yau-man the idol. Were you struggling with your decision or were you struggling with revealing your decision?

Dreamz: As I went there, I knew I wasn't going to give him the idol. But the closer and the closer I got, I wanted to give it to him. And then if I gave it to him, then that wouldn't have been me playing the game. Which that would defeat my whole purpose of coming out there. I was so close to giving it to him. I planned not to give it to him but I also didn't want to go back on my word. In the end, my mind kept saying 'it's a game, you're playing a game, that's what you came here to do, do it.' So I ended up just finishing the game off.

IGN TV: Were you surprised Earl voted to eliminate Yau-man or did you think it would end in a 2-2 tie?

Dreamz: Man, I knew Earl was going to vote for Yau-man. Everybody was playing a one man game from the beginning, it's just whatever benefited them. And since we were in that predicament, Earl knew that if he didn't vote against Yau-man, then it still would have been a clean sweep across the board, but Yau-man would have been the one being #1.

IGN TV: Why don't you think Cassandra got any votes?

Dreamz: Oh, cause everybody thinks Cassandra just outlasted people because she was riding on coattails. She actually was a good person to have around, too. But they didn't vote for her because they didn't like the way she played her game.

IGN TV: If you could pick one thing you took away from Survivor as a positive, what would it be?

Dreamz: It would be the whole experience. I got new friends that's going to probably last a lifetime. And the experience. It's just everything. All that stuff is pretty much positive.

IGN TV: What are you up to now?

Dreamz: I don't know. I haven't looked into nothing yet. I'm still trying to see what I'm going to do after this.

IGN TV: Do you still have the truck?

Dreamz: Yep, I still have the truck.

They should have asked if he has a license to drive the truck
