Big Brother 9: A Moment on the Big Comfy Cowch Part 2

With our first eviction so quickly done, it's now time for a second edition of Big Brother 9: A Moment on the Big Comfy Cowch. I seemed to be a little confused last time that "Power Couple" and "HoH" were actually two separate things, so at the close of BB9's second episode, we saw the elimination of Sharon & Jacob, one of the teams I saw predicted to leave. Very exciting that I haven't lost my predictive touch. However, I was pretty shocked to see that Jacob & Sharon were eliminated not because they appeared weak but because Jacob made one of the most "bone-headed" moves in the history of BB, even topping BB8's Mike.

So, for a quick episode recap:

We learned that Alex and Amanda are now the first HoH, Natalie would love to be a sexy nurse, Jacob thought it would be smart to stir the BB pot despite its affect on Sharon, Parker is a take-no-sh*t kinda guy, Adam refers to mentally handicapped children as "retards", and Jen & Ryan just could NOT silence their love. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this episode, especially for an episode so early in the season. Jacob decided to start some rumors, Parker decided to confront everyone, turns out Jacob made it all up. Great move, eh? Then Sharon tried to run with the rumor, blamed it on Ryan, and Parker set his sights on eliminating Allison & Ryan, invoking fear in Jen who THEN revealed their big secret. Parker was shocked but felt he could deal with it, but Allison had no problem saying that she didn't trust Jen, even going as far as to say Ryan would be better off with her as a girlfriend. What a mouthful!

Power Ranking:

Alex & Amanda
As our first "true" HoH, Alex and Amanda have claimed the top spot on my Power Ranking. Not only are they safe from eviction but they're in a great position to build up some connections and take an early hold on the game. Of course, this may backfire in the coming weeks because they have just pinned themselves as the couple to beat, but we'll deal with that next week.


Matt & Natalie
Seeing the connection that Matt and Natalie seem to have with Alex and Amanda, I don't expect this couple to be on the radar. However, they've become the runners-up in both of the competitions of the game thus far, which could be a big problem for them down the road when an HoH chooses to eliminate big threats. For now though, these guys are safe.


Neil & Joshuah
Neil and Joshuah, like I said, are just going to float around for a bit. They both seem to get along well with all of the houseguests, but the fact that they haven't really made any true alliances while all the guys are beginning to make bonds could end up coming back to bite them. My best judgment says their safe though.


James & Chelsia
Like Joshuah & Neil, these two will float for a bit until they actually win a competition or really begin developing strategy with other teams. Unless something really drastic happens, I think these guys are safe.


Parker & Jen
For me, at the moment, I think Parker and Jen are safe. Following the general trend of past BBs, the first people to gain power usually last for a while (except in Kail's case because she was an idiot) and because Parker confronted the whole house like he did, I think he gained some respect for his team. The only downfall I see coming is if Jen's secret emerges, which because four people know now, could very well happen. Seeing how Jen is ruthless and Parker seems to be on good terms with people, even if they somehow end up nominated, they will probably bounce back.


Sheila & Adam
Like last week, these guys are in trouble - however, I still don't see them going anywhere any time soon. They're weak, bad at competition, don't work well together, and are just gross. So really, they're an asset to keep around. But, I do see these guys going up as a pawn, either before or after the PoV in order to get out another team. These guys could be the Amy of BB3 in terms of pawnage. We'll have to see if my prediction has any merit later on.


Allison & Ryan
I don't think Alex & Amanda and Ryan & Allison have any sort of connection, so I see them as the most plausible target this week. In addition, Ryan's name was mentioned in the drama of last week and if his secret comes out (c'mon people, this is BB, that secret won't stay secret for long), he and Allison could be our second evicted couple. As long as Parker and Allison keep their partners' secrets (which would benefit both of them immensely) we may see a completely different set of couples. However, I foresee the secret coming out and one of the two couples getting eliminated - most likely Ryan & Allison because they are the weaker of the two.

So there it is! The power rankings. Right now, Alex & Amanda are on top of the house, but for long? Who knows. My nomination predictions:

1.Sheila & Adam + Parker & Jen
2. Sheila & Adam + Ryan & Allison
3. Parker & Jen + Ryan & Allison

Either #1 or #2 seem the most plausible to me for the moment but if some sh*t really hits the fan, we could see a #3 coming our way. And now it's time for me to check spoilers to see how close I've come!!
